I knew this day would come eventually, and yet it feels like it came a little too soon… Today marks the official end of my summer holiday.
And what a holiday!
I spent the whole summer on the road with my husband and our two-year old son, visiting family, going to outdoor concerts, camping, sightseeing, and watching football. It was a much needed break after a very busy year and I am so grateful for the time and the amazing memories that we made.
But now it’s back to reality.
Today’s outfit is somewhat of a typical office look, yet it could easily be converted to have a more casual summer feel by removing the blazer and switching up some of the accessories.
Here’s what I came up with:
And the look that inspired it:

Here’s how it breaks down:
Shirt: White cotton v-neck tee. $5 from Target.
Skirt: Khaki pencil skirt by Tommy Hilfiger. About $10 from Value Village.
Blazer: Black cotton blazer by Suzy Shier. About $20 from Value Village.
Shoes: Shiny black pumps from the Comfort Plus line by Predictions. $25 from Payless Shoesource. (These are insanely comfortable! I loved them so much I bought them in nude as well.)
Glasses: Black plastic-framed sunglasses. $15 from the gift shop at the Maui Coast Hotel.
Scarf: Sheer leopard print scarf. I’ve had this scarf for a long time so I don’t remember where I bought it, but I believe it cost about $10.
Necklaces: The shorter black beaded necklace was a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law a couple years ago and the longer one (which I have doubled up) was a bargain bin find that I bought for about $10 many years ago.
Belt: I believe this belt came attached to a shirt or a dress I bought a long time ago so I don’t know what it cost. Interestingly, I seldom wear belts with the pieces they actually come with. I think it often looks boring or too matchy-matchy to wear multi-piece outfits the way they were designed (the same rule applies to earring & necklace sets) but I do like to mix and match these pieces between different outfits.
Well off to work I go!
Ciao for now.
